Another Month, Another Hot Flash

April. As always, I’ve put up a new Hot Flash. Click here to read it. Scroll down that page for January’s, February’s and March’s, and links to previous years’.

And, since it’s Friday Recommends day, I have two recommendations for you:

  1. Join the April A-to-Z Blog Challenge, or at least click on the badge to the right in my sidebar and visit some of the blogs participating.
  2. Read or reread Nathaniel Hawthorne’s THE SCARLET LETTER. You can download a digital copy FREE here at Project Gutenberg. If you’ve only ever read the book under compulsion because it’s a clllaaaaaasssic, read it again because it’s a freaking good read. Guess which letter was scarlet? Now let’s not always see the same hands….

WRITING PROMPT: Write a page about a character you invent or one you already have who is suffering for some guilt he or she shares with somebody else who doesn’t seem to be paying any price.

It’s a good one! I can’t believe they make teenagers read it. It’s about SEX, dude! And kids are all like, “BORing!” This does not compute!

I haven’t read the Scarlet Letter either, intriguing proposal about the character sketch. Good material for a blogfest, methinks :O)

I love your interpretation of the challenge. πŸ™‚

I definitely will get around to the Scarlet Letter, but first I have to get through seven other classics.

    Yep, I have it planned.

I love this A to Z challenge. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have found you.

I’ve found a lot of good classics on Gutenberg. I read the Scarlet Letter years ago, and once wrote a paper on it. I love Hawthorne. Thanks for reminding me.

Alex Cavanaugh talked me into this, and I’m glad he did. πŸ™‚ I love Hawthorne, too, especially The Scarlet Letter.

I confess I only read The Scarlet Letter under duress. I promise to pull it off the shelf and read it with open eyes. πŸ™‚

Your prompt kinda scares me. I wonder if I really have a story to tell.

Visiting from the A to Z Challenge. Looking forward to reading your posts. Happy Friday! πŸ™‚

I’d forgotten all about The Scarlett Letter. What a great pick for today. Nice post.

Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during challenge I will not be doing so during April. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
    Thanks.
