The Red Badge of Success

I’ve attended Magna cum Murder crime writing festival for many of its 17 years, but this was the first year I attended as an Author. My upgrade is thanks to Echelon Press‘ publication of FORCE OF HABIT, which is a crime/sf/farce. I got to be on two panels: Strangers On A Boat, under the moderation of Sarah E. Glenn, about putting a series character in an unfamiliar situation, with special reference to this year’s One Festival-One Book selection, Agatha Christie’s DEATH ON THE NILE; and, under T. Lee Harris‘ gentle guidance, the one on ePublishing.

So here are my badges of belonging: my red name tag and my bio in the program book. Yay, me!

I’m also pleased to announce that SPEC THE HALLS is now available from Alliteration Ink Publishing as an electronic download only. SPEC THE HALLS is an anthology of spec-fic winter holiday stories. My own “Evergreen Gaze” is one of them. All proceeds from the sale of this anthology go to Heifer International, one of my own favorite charities. Please consider contributing to this fine cause, either by buying the anthology or by direct donation. My mother always buys a goat. We like to give bees.

WRITING PROMPT: Invent a winter holiday.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
