Friday Go-Go

I’m on my way to Context Science Fiction Convention this weekend, but I’ve set up my Caturday and Sample Sunday posts. Fellow Southern Indiana Writers member T. Lee Harris and I will be there, representing the SIW, ourselves, and our publishers (I, Hydra Publications and T, Untreed Reads).

I felt a bit iffy driving to Columbus, Ohio, in the car whose warning lights are on all the time even though check-ups show it in good working order. I certainly will never again drive the Ford Fusion whose gas pedal floors itself and stays at full throttle until it decides to disengage.

Fortunately, there was a third option. T’s friend, Dale, is going, and he’s driving us all up in his Volvo.

CHARLIE: I hate to think of it raining this weekend, and you on the road.

ME: I won’t be driving.

CHARLIE: Yeah, but you’ll be in the car!

ME: Yeah, but it’s a Volvo!

They ought to pay us to recreate that conversation for a commercial.

If I can get a connection in the hotel, I’ll probably be popping in, just in case anybody wants to leave a COMMENT. If it weren’t for Jane and the Timber Door people, I wouldn’t hardly never have no comments a-tall. ~MA rubs her thumb and first finger together which, in college, was said to be the world’s smallest violin playing “My Heart Pumps Purple Peanut Butter For You”.~

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: A character has a pity party. How do the people around him or her react? How does the character react to somebody else’s pity party?

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
