Alternate #6WSC From Marian With An A

My “sister” from The Netherlands, Marion Driessen (aka The DuTchess) posts a challenge every two weeks. Her next challenge will be posted on Wednesday, June 12. So Imma post a challenge on the alternate weeks!

The challenge: Write a story in six words, accompanied by a picture. Post the story and picture on your blog, then leave a link to it in the comments of this post.

The most famous six word story is one by Hemingway, whose friends are said to have bet he couldn’t write one. I think it’s more likely he thought one up, then maneuvered the drunken chumps into the bet. But perhaps I’m judging him by myself.

For sale: baby shoes, never used.

โ€”Ernest Hemingway

Pretty good, eh? So how about it? Wanna play? I’ll add mine here tomorrow.

Not much interest in my challenge. Boo-hoo for me. Okay, here’s mine:

Alternate
Single, married. Loved, hated. Nagged, widowed.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: alternate
Any pronunciation, any part of speech, any form of the word (alternatively, alternating, alteration).

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

You know why I can only offer the challenge once every two weeks, and this is the perfect solution. Let’s do this together, Sister! x

I don’t know why. Or, I probably DO know why, but I’m drawing a blank. Is the other Wednesday D&D day?

I could have sworn I explained it to you in a comment. Once every two weeks on Wednesday I write a column for my university. On the other Wednesdays I set up the Six-Word challenge in Dutch at Doldriest and in English at Figments of a DuTchess. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, yes! See, it doesn’t do my any good to have stuff explained to me. Have you read John Steinbeck’s OF MICE AND MEN? If you want me to remember anything, you have to write it down and tie it around the neck of a dead mouse. ~sigh~
