#Vegetarian Once More. Maybe.

I made this for supper after a day or two of carnivoration. It was most delicious.

stirandsaladThat salad is a mixture of cucumbers from our garden and heirloom tomatoes from the local farmers’ market. The dressing is blue cheese, so we’re definitely not vegan on this one.

The stir fry is mushrooms, yellow squash, fresh green beans, fresh garlic, mushroom gravy, and (because it seemed like a good idea* at the time) a tablespoon of almond butter over Amish egg noodles (not vegan again). The reason I don’t know if it’s vegetarian or not is that the mushroom gravy was made with concentrate our #4 daughter brought back from her trip to Russia. It might be vegetarian or it might not; the package, of course, was all written in Russian in Cyrillic script!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies but it’s pretty much the same salad, so why bother?

*It WAS a good idea! Mmmmmmm!

    Hi Marian,

I’m not a foodie and might not be brave enough to try something that came in from Russia. I worried all the while Amy was there and am glad that I did not know until she returned that her host family in Siberia stored the chicken overnight in the microwave before cooking it the next day:(!

Monti, this was packaged from Knorr for the grocery. Sara’s hostess didn’t store meat at room temperature! Yikes! Sara didn’t eat anything that wasn’t cooked or drink any water that wasn’t boiled. She’s seen me get sick too often from tap water in other parts of our own country!
