You know what I love? Fascinator hats. And beer. But I don’t know how to make beer.
Here are two fascinators I made today. The net on the black one has sparkles in it. I like sparkles. That’s probably why I like so much beer. I mean why I like beer so much. That’s what I meant. The feathery one is not — repeat, NOT — a critter. It’s a fascinator. Really.
I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about Mrs. Bridges’ Upstairs, Downstairs Cookery Book.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What kind of hat does your character wear, or what kind would he/she wear if forced to wear one?

October 22, 2013 at 10:02amFinely fancy fascinators! (Say that twice in a row!)
As you no doubt recall, my ladies are extremely open to wearing an action-appropriate fascinator when they attend their Derby events, largely because they don’t get so in the way when one is dodging bullets and such!

October 23, 2013 at 11:06amThose are cool hats! Your talent knows no bounds lovely author. I really wish I could drink real beer – can’t though because it’s got gluten in it. However – since you said – you can make a really cool pineapple beer just by letting the peels ferment. Tastes lovely too. 😀

October 23, 2013 at 11:09amOooooo, Jo, pineapple beer sounds like heaven! Want some! Now! 🙂

October 23, 2013 at 11:16amGet yourself some pineapple quickly! You can make a really slimming pudding with the insides with coconut biscuits, jelly and evaporated milk – guaranteed to make you lose 10kgs in 2 days! Proven formula – hee heee! Seriously though – after a couple of days the peels make a lovely fizzy drink (not too alcoholic) and then after a bit of storage will knock the spots off a giraffe. 😀 Can you just post me one of those hats please? :)))))

October 24, 2013 at 10:43amDear Jo, Hi!
I have indulged in a rye-based beer that is entirely palatable. OK, it was good!
Now, I can’t recall the brand, but it was clearly labeled as to its contents.
Good luck finding some!

October 24, 2013 at 12:01pmJane, I think rye also has gluten. Mead may or may not, depending on how it’s made. It SHOULDN’T, but the gluten intolerant have to be superdeeduper careful.
