Sweetie Pie Steps In For #Caturday

Sweetie PieSweetie Pie Turner here.

This is a little bit confusing, so please listen closely: My mom is Katya’s mom’s mom — or, looking at it the other way, Katya’s mom is my mom’s daughter. So technically, Katya’s mom is my human sister, but I’ve always called her Grandma because she spoils me.

Mom says that would be too confusing, but Grandma Katya’s mom is too special to me to just call her by her name, and I want to be her cat as well as Mom’s cat, now that Katya has trotted ahead to the Rainbow Bridge. But I can’t call them both Mom, because that would be even more confusing than calling my mom’s daughter my Grandma.

speyeonporchSo I’ve decided to call her what she sometimes calls herself: MomGoth.

Oh, and one more thing: That avatar is an old picture of me, when I was much younger and slimmer. I understand that many columnists do that.

Oh, and another one more thing: MomGoth says I’m a hobbit, because I have furry feet and always want second breakfast (and third and fourth and….) but I’m not a hobbit. I’m a cat.

I’m always on the job, too. When I’m not keeping an eye on the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, I’m keeping an eye on the driveway and MomGoth’s house. Nothing gets past me.

I’ll see you next week. I know you miss Katya, but I’ll try to keep up her standards.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: An animal who lives next door to you goes to The Rainbow Bridge. Are you happy or sad or relieved? Does your relationship with the animal’s human(s) change? How does the neighborhood change?

A warm hello to you, dear Sweetie Pie Turner. You had me a little confused too, so I’m just going to pet you on your sweet fluffy head and give your MomGoth a huge hug.

PS. I love the thought of you being a hobbit. But of course you’re a dignified cat! 😉

    Hello, Sweetie!

Pleased to meet you. Ms. Katya left some sharp claw-marks for you to step into, but I am sure you will spread your claws and dig in. Welcome.

I’ll miss Katya’s snarkiness, but Sweetie Pie always has plenty to say. Most of it is, “Feed me,” but still….

lol! Sweetie Pie should feel right at home, then. I’ll have to ask her to quote some of the posts I’ve made about her in her younger days. 😀

Sweetie Pie, you are a natural. Make sure MomGoth massages your typing paws after each blog.

LOL! Sweetie Pie doesn’t like her paws messed with. It’s like Jerry Lawler v Tojo Yamamoto every time I need to trim her claws.

I’m glad, too, Monti! I get to see her every day. It’s a good thing, too, because she swears Mom never feeds her, and she’d STARRRRVE to death if I didn’t come and rescue her!
