A Happy For Mom

Took Mom to the doctor yesterday. This doc was in Jeffersonville. You know what else is in Jeffersonville? SCHIMPFF’S CONFECTIONERY! Best. Store. Ever.

So after, for the first time in a long time, Mom said, “Let’s go to Schimpff’s.” She’s still on the feeding tube, still not taking food by mouth, and she’s steadily declined to go get her favorite sweet, which are these “cream meltaways”.

Happy Thing

happy

This is an orange one. They melt in the mouth — perfect, for somebody who has trouble swallowing.

So Mom is happy. And I, since she’s happy, am also happy. 🙂

Oh, and if you’re ever in or near Jeffersonville, Indiana, GO TO SCHIMPFF’S.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: A character returns to a little something that used to make them happy after a long absence or abstinence.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
