Tip Parnell Hall Or He’ll Rave, Bad Girl

Yep. It’s Friday Recommends again, the day I mash up blog titles JUST BECAUSE I CAN.

Know why? ‘CAUSE IT’S ME BIRFDAY!!

SAGE cake2cHere are some blogs that intrigued me this week.

If You Can’t Afford A Tip is your one-stop shop for information on what it’s like to be a server in the food industry. It has tipping guidelines, bitch-and-brag posts about bad tippers, bad servers, good tippers, good servers, and job search … thingy.

Parnell Hall has bowed to pressure and talked somebody into setting up a blog for him. If you don’t know Parnell, for God’s sake go over and meet him! I especially recommend his Media page. You’re welcome.

Unless you were at Imaginarium 2014, you may not have heard of Rebekah McAuliffe. That won’t be the case for long. She blogs at Ravings of a Coffee-Crazed Writer, and she has written a book called GEARS OF GOLGOTHA. She was supposed to launch it at the con, but she sold out before the launch party. Yeah. I’m usually like, “faith-based”? Oh, hell, no! But I’m buying this one. No, I tell a lie, ‘CAUSE I JUST BOUGHT IT — BOOM!

Then there is Sean Taylor, the guy who puts the sauce in awesomesauce. He has a blog called Bad Girls, Good Guys, and Two-Fisted Action, where he does reviews, interviews, and is just generally awesome.

And now, I’m off to Context!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write about a dinner party and tipping.

Thanks, Jane! Having a happy one, even if I am far from home. We’ll have to celebrate again in October. And there will be beer, because it will be October, right?
