Meet Mister Mustard #ThrowbackThursday

Yes, I said MEET Mister Mustard. Do you now have MEAN Mister Mustard running through your head, you old hippie, you? I know I do.

This Mister Mustard isn’t that one, though. This one is a sweater.

When #3 Daughter was in middle school and high school, one of the girls gave me this sweater. #3 and I both loved it. We swapped it back and forth so much, it just seemed easier to give it a name than to say, like, “Is that yellow knit sweater with the pattern made into it in the dirty clothes or in your closet? Are you wearing it tomorrow?” So we decided to call it Mister Mustard.

Mister Mustard

Mister MustardWe still do. I’m not one of your get-a-new-wardrobe-twice-a-year gals. I’m one of your wear-it-until-it-falls-off-in-rags gals. So I still have Mister Mustard, after twenty or so years. And every time #3 Daughter sees me in it, she laughs and says, “You’re wearing Mister Mustard!”

It’s things like that that make life worth living.

Actually, my first thought was of Colonel Mustard, maybe with the lead pipe in the Billiard Room 🙂
