Mexican Mandala #vegetarian #food

Actually, it’s just a plate o’ grub, but I thought Mexican Mandala sounded pretty, so….

On the other hand, The Mandala Project defines a mandala as “An integrated structure
organized around a unifying center,” so maybe this is a mandala after all.

Mexican Mandala

Mexican MandalaThat’s rice, “Southwestern” black beans (with cumin and chili powder, that means), “fiesta” corn (with green chilies and sweet red peppers), and a blob of salsa in the middle chopped lettuce and shredded cheese onna top.

I think food tastes better if it’s pretty, don’t you? Or do you?

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Does your main character care what their food looks like? Jane, I already know Callie’s answer: YES! MUST BE HANDSOME!

Well, you know: Handsome is as handsome does. Callie just hopes Handsome actually is.

Also: “Put that on a plate; It’ll taste better.” Repo Man (while eating out of a can labeled FOOD): “Tastes great, Mom. Mmmm Mmm.”
I paraphrase a little perhaps. (You should see that movie. The original, that is.)

Anyway, does really ugly food EVER taste good? One could say that even a pan of brownies shoveled out in a big mad jumble, while not exactly pretty, can yet muster the mouth juices to run even before the taste test.

ANyway, now I want that dish you just made.

Vegetarian food is wonderful! Make sure there’s some umami to it, and you never miss the meat.
