They say you can’t control everything, but I refuse to accept that. Oh, perhaps one human being can’t make everything happen that ought to happen, but you don’t have to do it all alone, after all. One of the delightful things about power is that some leads to more, if you know how to use it.
Everyone loves power, although most people are afraid to take it, and even more afraid to use it. Still, they love it, and they flock to those who do have it and do use it. They’ll do anything you tell them to, give you power over them, just so they can experience the pleasure of power, even if they’re on the puppet’s end of the strings.
You, for instance. What would you like to do for The House of Sarpa?
Would you, at least, begin with participating in the April A-to-Z Challenge by visiting Of Shoes and Ships and Sealing Wax, Of Cabbages and Kings?

Oliva is a main character in the SAGE fantasy trilogy, available through Indiebound and at Amazon in print and electronic versions.
BIG P.S. — I was interviewed yesterday on the Story A Day site, because I’ve successfully completed two Story A Day in May challenges and plan to do so again this year. 🙂
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: How does your main character respond to having power? To being subjected to someone else’s power?

April 17, 2015 at 9:25amJ here, stopping by from the #atozchallenge 2015!
Great post. I’m following you on your listed social media sites. Congratulations on making it past the first half.
The main character in my current fantasy WIP is born to power, and her mother tries to force more power on her. She doesn’t want it. Which is basically the set-up for the story.

April 17, 2015 at 10:36amSounds good, J! I don’t deserve congratulations, though. I feel like a cheating cheater who cheats, since I always post every day — including Sunday — anyway. I mostly join the challenge to find new blogs to follow and new friends to enjoy. Thank you for stopping by and commenting!
Your WIP sounds right up my alley. That’s the kind of set-up I like to hear. 🙂
