Toothy Tuesday

This has been my month for antibiotics-giving.

ToothMom had a cracked molar and I took her to the wonderful Dr. Crowley to have it extracted. He had it popped out and stuffed with gauze before I finished filling out the paperwork. Good thing I agreed to the surgery on paper! He is AMAZING.

After the surgery, Mom had to take antibiotics round-the-clock, so I spent the nights at her house for the duration. Three in the morning is a mean time to get up and do something responsible.

Then I took Munchkin in because he’s been sneezing and he’s stopped eating. Turns out he has an abscessed tooth or two, and he’s on antibiotics to get the inflammation down enough for them to be extracted. Then he’ll probably be on antibiotics afterwards. Lucky for me, he only takes his twice a day.

I’m happy to report that, once the antibiotics kicked in AND I discovered that he goes for tuna mixed with his cat food, he started eating again. Spoiled? Nah!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies with another broccoli salad, this one vegan and so delicious!

Giving medication to cats is not my favorite thing to do – good luck with that.

Thanks, Dan. The antibiotics go pretty well. Since Munchkin hardly has any teeth, he can’t clench them shut and I can squirt the liquid med right in. The pill, not so much. The vet says they’ll give me a cat piller, but I don’t hold out much hope for my success.

@Marian Allen@Marian Allen – My daughter uses Pill Pockets for her cats. They love them but one takes more meds than the other, so the other gets a pill pocket as a treat at those times. The things we do for these little furballs 🙂

I’m surprised they work. I can’t imagine a cat not being able to eat the pocket while discarding the pill!

I’ve sure seen some spit-out pills in my day!
    Oh…that was Mom.
    Well, anyway….

I accept your challenge. Vampires, you must know, are like sharks; if one fang falls out (or is somehow or other excised), another pops right out behind it!
That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!

I LIKE the shark-tooth thing. …Of course, now I’m thinking of a really REALLY bad torture scene….
