So, cool! I’ll be one of the panelists, and I’ll be helping work the Per Bastet Publications book table in the Expo Hall.

So that’s the first weekend of September. The following weekend, I’ll be at the Kentuckiana Authors Book Blitz. I’m playin’ the Palace, Ma!BookBlitzNuttin’ but books! Books everywhere! The Palace is worth seeing any time, but a vintage showplace FILLED WITH BOOKS? Have I died and gone to heaven? ‘Cause that’s totally what my heaven would look like. Except, you know, the books would be free.

The books are NOT free, but admission is. You can come look around and yak with the authors for f-r-doubleE free.

Again, I’ll be working the Per Bastet Publications table, along with at least the other owners of PB, T. Lee Harris and Katina French. So y’all come!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What is your main character’s idea of paradise, assuming your character has that concept.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Friday, I passed out two of the Imaginarium flyers! To actual writer people! I think they’ll show up!

    What an abundance of riches!

    Heaven–don’t know.
I’ve seen some interesting fictional motivations show up. Ex: a character who can’t die loses his family. He knows he will never see them again. He tries to kill the guy who made him immortal. Well. Obvious reaction, eh? On TV, anyway.

Oh, you meant a dream heaven? Let’s see. Rivers of chocolate ganache. Everybody would be at their ideal age for them. The library would be like the Neal Gaiman’s Sandman’s library of lost books. It would have all the books that people never got to write, or didn’t finish. I’d never have to clean my paint brushes. The tomatoes would always be ripe. Bakery goods wouldn’t have transfats in them. Uh oh. Enuff.

Sounds like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Which is, you know, OKAY BY ME. Then there’s The Big Rock Candy Mountain: There’s a lake of stew / and whiskey, too. / You can paddle all around ’em in a big canoe…. Sounds A-OK, yes?
