The Sadness and the Gladness of the #Minecraft

First, this is the first of the month, so there’s a new Hot Flash on the Hot Flash page. Why did no one tell me I forgot to post my August Hot Flash? Do you guys not read them, or what?? Anyway, if you do read them, scroll down to the bottom of the list for the August one. ~sigh~

So the recharging port on my Irulu tablet ($50 — cheap) TOTALLY BROKE and I couldn’t recharge, so I couldn’t play Minecraft.

But then my friend Jane — who is absolutely brill!! — said, “Can you charge it through its USB port?”

Well, I couldn’t, in that the USB charger port is unlike any other, however, I do have a connector for Irulu-to-femaleUSB. So I went to NewEgg, (also brill, though not as brill as Jane) and bought a male-to-male USB connector. Since I also have a USB-to-electrical outlet adapter. I just popped those suckers together and MacGyvered that puppy back into business. Punkinville rises from the ashes!

But that’s not what this post is about.

Meanwhile, I downloaded the Minecraft app onto my phone (because, once you buy it, you can download it to every device you own) and started a new game on that. The first thing I did was fall into a pit and couldn’t see to get out, so I deleted that dawg and started again.

Guess where I am now? In a jungle biome, baby! You know what that means? I’ll tell you what that means: CocoaBeansCocoa beans! Cocoa beans everywhere!!! No more manufacturing cocoa beans with the ink sacs of slaughtered squid! Truly is my new land named Vegetariana!

In keeping with the Mistah Kurtziness of the setting, I’m not building a superstructure home, but have dug a little snuggery out of the sand and rock.HomeSweetHomeIsn’t that as quaint as all get-out? Please note the double doors. The crinkly tan bit behind the torches is sandstone, and the crinkly brown bit on either side of the doors is jungle wood; very blendy.

So now, instead of NO Minecraft, I have multiple versions. Worlds and worlds. I’m singing happily to myself a little bit, here, I really am. Hope that’s okay with you.

I’m posting at Fatal Foodies today about a vegetarian enchilada deliciousness I made.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What would you rather have: pumpkins or cocoa beans?

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Didn’t we talk about an intervention? I think it’s on the horizon. But you probably have a weapon to deal with that 🙂

    Great Hot Flashes!

Love the new snuggery house. Very picturesque.

Yeah, I finally wised up and built my house at my spawn point. Now, if I die, I’ll respawn next to my house. Also, now that I’ve mined some iron and redstone, I’ve made a compass, and it always points to my spawn point, so I’ll never be lost again!

Microsoft bought Minecraft about a year ago, I think. They’re probably vetting all us players for some kind of Ender’s Game thing, and I’ll be recruited to be a pioneer on a distant planet. Would I go? Oh, HELL, yeah!

But what planet is made up of squares? Is Microsoft planning to terraform Mars with Legos?

Possibly, possibly. Hmmm…. You’re giving me ideas, and you know what happens to you when I get ideas. ~grin~

If I didn’t have a teenager, I’d probably have no idea what any of this was about…

Cocoa beans. I’d rather have cocoa beans, as long as they’re not made of – squid ink? WTF. Squid ink is what I put in my fountain pen. Which I totally use to shear my sheep, to get volcanic pumice to make into soap to trade with the natives for cocoa beans that aren’t made of squid.

Who needs MINECRAFT to make stuff, when you have an imagination and can make stuff UP? 🙂
