No Scratching, No Fluffing #Caturday

the queenAmidala speaking.

I’ve discovered that MaMA doesn’t like to be fluffed. There’s nothing more comforting than climbing onto something soft and fluffing it up by scratching at it with one’s paws — not one’s claws, you understand, but one’s paws.

I love sitting on MaMA’s lap, so naturally I want to knead her legs and fluff them up. She objects. She doesn’t mind the kneading, but she doesn’t like the fluffing — or, as she calls it, scratching. Here I am, just after she has moved my right paw and told me no.

AmiStopsFluffingSo there was nothing to do but fluff the fluffy blanket she put next to her, curl up, and use her as a pillow.

AmiRestingSo we were both content.

We get fluffed all the time Amidala. We also get scrunched and used as a pillow by the 50lb Irish Setter.

Oof! I don’t mind Amidala using me as a pillow. She has normal weight. My first cat, Tiffany (I didn’t name her), had NO heft. One of my SIL called her “the Styrofoam Kitty.” BUT, when she was walking down the stairs, she sounded like a linebacker. And when she decided to walk on you or lie on you, it was like being pressed to death. At least Amidala doesn’t defy the laws of physics.

@Marian Allen – MiMi and MuMu (sisters) are about 5lbs and 10lb respectively. MuMu walks as if her paws are little pillows. She’s silent.MiMi sounds like the linebacker you mention. It is hard to figure out how that works.

My girl Squirrel is just now curled up on top of the printer, defying gravity, hanging over the edge on a single piece of paper.

My left knee is dotted with –er– flex marks from Eddie’s mighty claws. He just gets happier and happier, and then the skin breaks, and….I gently touch his big, furry toes and sort of extricate the end points. Whew. Relief.
