I don’t have to ask you how you’re doing. I’ll tell you how you’re doing: You’re doing great!
Are you still pumped about your project? Are you knocking out words on an average of 1667 a day? THAT’S GREAT! You may finish ahead of schedule, and keep going, and have a fat, juicy rough draft ready to be trimmed and polished.
Are you falling behind? Are you beginning to wonder if you’ll be able to make up the slack? THAT’S GREAT! You may get a second wind and ramp up the count for the rest of the month. Or you might not; you may find that the project that seemed so shiny in October is not really so hot. How lucky is it that you found that out in 15 days instead of 15 agonizing years?
Have you decided to just throw in the towel and stop? You’re way ahead of me — THAT’S GREAT! Maybe this just isn’t your year for NaNo, or maybe that just wasn’t the project for it. Maybe you need to mull that puppy over for a while before you take another run at it. Meanwhile, you can join me in cheering the other NaNoistas on.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: A character enjoys stopping something.

November 16, 2015 at 11:19amThe fan on my next favorite laptop just died!
The favorite laptop is still Win XP, and so cannot go on line!
ARGGHH!
Also, just to completely unload, I HATE Windows 8. How can 10 be any better?
I want Linux, and I want it now!

November 16, 2015 at 11:57amIf you can’t go online, you need to get a disk from somebody. Can Jimmy burn you a disk? I use Peach Linux on my desktop, but I’ve since had Linux Elementary Freya recommended to me.
