Micro Door To Don Dune Death Star #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsHappy Friday, and isn’t the internet a wonderful place? Sometimes? Honestly?

I mean — WOW, WOW, WOW, look at this: Talk about tiny houses! Vertical dwellings inside test tubes! I am, as they say across the pond, right gobsmacked!

On the human scale, take a look at these wonderful pictures by Norm Frampton of Thursday Doors link-up fame. This is a one-post lesson on composition that he ought to charge cash money for. It’s the zen of composition.

My friend Brett Sanders is like the most interesting blogger in the world: He doesn’t always post but, when he does, it’s well worth reading. His latest is a meditation on Don Quixote, Cervantes, and Islam. Please note the use of the Oxford comma. I am all about the Oxford comma.

From the sublime to the ridonkulous, the Kitchen Overlord has been busy making Dune food: Sandworm-shaped bread stuffed with spices and Sandworm pear pie. Now, if one spends any amount of time cleaning cat boxes…. ‘Nuff said. Still, these are probably very tasty, and he includes vegan, paleo, and gluten-free versions.

Kitchen Overlord has also graced the world with a recipe for home-made Oreo-type cookies, which one can, apparently, make to resemble the Death Star or Darth Vader’s helmet. And another thing: How cool is it that my spell-check automatically accepts Vader as a word? Way, that’s how!

So have fun, and tell me how you like the recommendations this week.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What does your main character think of cats?

LOVE! those micro houses. 😀 As a dollshouse maker from way back they inspired me to post a pic of one of my own.

    Great recommends, as always.
Interesting Don Quixote post. Loved the tiny test tube houses, plus a variety of the links from that post of a number of other strangely seen items.
    Thanks.

Brett always has interesting things to say. He thinks before he speaks, which puts him at a disadvantage in most conversations, since seven people will have spoken before Brett has formulated a response. His response is always richly worth waiting for, though.
