Leftover Bowl #Vegetarian could be #Vegan

Yeah, you could clean out the refrigerator by putting little dabs of this and that on your plate and heating it up like that, and that’s nice. OR you could do something like this.BowlThis is the tag end of a head of lettuce spread over the bottom of a soup plate. On top of that (heated before placed on the lettuce): rice, black beans mixed with barbecue sauce, hominy,  and the last of the diced tomatoes with mild green chilies. A little cheese on top — oh, and the last crumbs of the corn tortilla chips.

Very pretty, and very good.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Your character cleans out a refrigerator.

I’d eat that! Looks good. Plus cleaning out the fridge is a good thing to do!

As long as you do the clean-out before things go all Oscar Madison. Remember when Felix first looked in Oscar’s fridge and said, “What’s this?” and Oscar looked at it and said, “It’s either very new cheese or very old meat.”

I love black beans and tortilla chips. Yum!

When I was a kid I thought hominy was the grossest thing, and now I love the stuff! My dad says it’s because as you get older your taste buds die, so you don’t taste as much.

I’m the same way with hominy, Shelly! My mother still hates it, but I think it’s luscious! I believe it was more the texture than the taste I objected to when I was little and picky. 🙂 Your dad is funny!
