Sweetie Pie’s Visitor #Caturday

Sweetie Pie Turner here. My mom is MomGoth’s Mom. Since MomGoth’s kitties are all playing at the Rainbow Bridge, and since MomGoth feeds me in the morning, I’ve adopted her.

The other morning, after she had given Mom her morning medicine and had taken care of some business for my mom, she looked out the doors and saw this.

Visitor1She got a little closer, but he wasn’t a bit scared, so she took a closer picture.

Visitor2He still wasn’t scared! In fact, he turned his back on her!

Visitor3You see that stick on the porch, don’t you? That’s a baluster he probably knocked out!

So MomGoth sat down on a chair not two feet away from the “cheeky devil,” as she called him, and snapped away.

He was eating the bird food, sifting through it to find the sunflower seeds. Mom came in and saw him, too. She laughed, but the birds and squirrels weren’t laughing! If Mom and MomGoth could understand animal talk, they would have blushed! I blushed, but you couldn’t see it through my fur.

When he was done, the “cheeky devil” strolled away. Waddled away, I should say!

Visitor7Charles, MomGoth’s human pet, says he thinks this is who’s been eating the scraps they throw out to the turtle, and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. This is probably the raccoon Charles saw sitting on their deck, eating their blueberries.

MomGoth says the internet calls raccoons “trash pandas,” but I think “squirrel starvers” is more like it!

The next day, the squirrels showed up earlier and ate faster!

Yeah. Raccoons. Everything’s just fine until somebody gets poked in the … eye.

I’ve heard tails of raccoons that would curl your hair. Tip: Don’t approach them when they are in quantity.

I tried to run one off the cat food the other day, and he was all like, nuh uh, I’m not finished yet. so I’m all OK glad we got that straight.

    Aren’t they beautiful?

“I tried to run one off the cat food the other day, and he was all like, nuh uh, I’m not finished yet. so I’m all OK glad we got that straight.” <-LOL!!! They ARE pretty critters, and their little hands are precious, but I sure wouldn't want to meet one in a dark alley.

They are cute little buggers though. We had one wrestle a trash can into the back yard. I had tied the lid on with bungee chords. It turns out, he was trying to get to a half empty bag of Dorittos. I put the can back but I left the Dorritos out. They disappeared.

I’ve got a friend who has one come to the door every afternoon around 2. It comes in, eats some cat food, and leaves. Every day. It’s been years now.

Oh, my gosh! How did she have the courage to let a wild animal in the house in the first place? I’m glad it turned out to be a well-behaved wild animal. lol That’s just SO CUTE!

@Marian Allen – She started feeding it on the porch round about three years ago, when it was a kit 🙂 It’d eat with all the stray cats!
