Yay! The Vet’s On MY Side! #Caturday

Sweetie Pie Turner here.

MomGoth came to Mom’s to take me to the vet. I knew something was up, because two days before, she got the cat carrier out and opened the door. But two days passed and nothing happened, so I dropped my guard. She turned it up on its back end, scooped me up, and fed me into the opening hind feet first! Then she took me out to the car and put my seat belt on.

Not happy.
Not happy.

When we got to the vet, they weighed me in the carrier, then subtracted the weight of the carrier to get my weight. I wouldn’t come out. They had to take the carrier apart to get me.

Very not happy.
Very not happy.

MomGoth took me out of the carrier and the examination commenced.

WAY not happy.
WAY not happy.

It was bound to happen. It always does. It’s always a shock.

SHOTS! I KNEW IT!
SHOTS! I KNEW IT!

But MomGoth tattled to the vet about how I cough up hairballs. He said, “But look at that coat! See how even it is, how glossy and fresh? She’s a good groomer. Hairballs come with it.”

HEAR THAT, MOMGOTH? I’M NOT A QUIRP-BUCKET; I’M A GOOD GROOMER! HAH!

Besides that, I’m down to 14.8 pounds, from a high of 22, so the vet was very pleased with me!

seventeen poundsThis is a picture MomGoth drew of me, to celebrate because I was down to 17 pounds last year. I’m very happy about it. I’m even happier that my annual check-up is over, and that MomGoth has to stop calling me a quirp-bucket! ha!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you like your vet? (I hate the visits, but I like the vet. He gets me!)

LOL good groomer, good for you! And you are very brave. Though compliments to GothMom too, for she handled the situation like a pro.

Way to go Sweetie Pie. Our mom took the carriers out a week ahead of time. Then she took one outside. The she scooped MiMi up and put her in the outside carrier. I didn’t hear anything ”cuz MiMi is quiet. Then she got me.

I’m glad you got some bragging rights,

My good friend Squirrel had to visit the vet last week because she kept blowing loogies out her nose. (!)

About two days into the twice daily meds, Squirrel decided we would have a wrestling match instead of meds, but I won! Fortunately, the vet said she only had to take the meds until they worked, so as soon as the loogies stopped, the meds could, too.

AND THEN she was grateful we’d gone on that unmentionable trip!

HAHA! Good groomer, mmhm. I suppose my big boy kitty has this excuse as well. Such a beautiful boy.
Catticus only goes to the vet every three years, because he is a thirteen-pound mess of teeth and claws (back) when it’s time to go. I collect him and put him in the bathroom, then I put on my barn jacket and The Mister’s work gloves and then we battle it out. I think the vet has those every-three-years shots just for guys like Catticus.

Vets should kick back a little combat pay for owners with difficult cats. Does catnip zone Catticus out or rev him up? Just thinkin’ out loud, here.

Sadly, it revs him up. I can’t get him to take any chamomile tea, either. If you think of anything beyond forcing a sedative down his throat, do let me know. I love him, but I could stand a house call from the vet!

Congratulations, Sweetie Pie! And thanks, Marian, I’ll have to remember that trick about upending the carrier. πŸ˜€
