If you write American dialect or if you act or if you do voice-overs/narration or if you’re just curious, you might like this site. It’s a map and an exploration of North American English Dialects. Hours o’ fun!
I just discovered John Holton’s The Sound of One Hand Typing. Me like. For one thing: the title! For another thing, posts like this, explaining what an EBS special is in reference to songs. I am so there. I have a list.
Have you heard about Halo-Top ice cream, with like 300 calories IN A PINT? Naturally, we don’t carry it here in the sticks, but then I found this post about what purports to be an insanely delicious copy-cat recipe. Imma try it!
Sometimes, I paste together bits of story generated in different documents, or I want to reformat, and I find LibreOffice somewhat more difficult than Word for some of those reformatting tasks. WAY more difficult than WordPerfect, but then what isn’t more difficult than WP? When I have a formatting question, I head over to the LibreOffice forum and generally find the answer, like this one about how to remove unwanted tab-overs. The question was about removing them from a spreadsheet, but it works in text documents, too. Shiny.
