Spring Street (Mostly) #ThursdayDoors

I’ve been back to Jeffersonville, Indiana, and got so many door shots, I have to break it up into two posts. I love it when that happens!

The reason I went was, again, a book-selling event. This one was the Kentuckiana Authors Book Blitz. Way fun!

Here’s the front. Innit pretty?

jeff300Inside the lobby it was like this:

Books! I mean DOORS!
Books! I mean DOORS!

There was a courtyard, and more doors!

jeff300doorscourtyardWe went out to lunch and saw this.

Mr. Freeze, where they have Alchohol Freezies. No, we didn't slurp ... er ... eat there.

And this.

jeffredyetiWe didn’t eat there, either.

Across from the Yeti is this awesomesauce public park, with bike sculpture outside of it. Jeffersonville — this part, at least — is very bike-friendly.

jeffparkHere came a couple of bikers, possibly having ridden across the Big 4 Pedestrian Bridge just through that arch, which says Big 4 Station.

jeffbig4stationWe had our hearts set on eating at Schimpff’s. Alas for us! It was Sunday, and Schimpff’s was closed! I’ll post about Schimpff’s another time, and about where we did eat, but now for more doors.

Ghost door, or possibly ghost great big low window.

Lots of painted cast iron trim along here.

jeffclockRandom insurance offices.

jeffinsuranceAnd, driving home, I had time at a red light to snap this at a poor angle.

jeffrandomdoorA very happy day, other than not getting a Schimpff’s fix.

This has been a part of Norm Frampton’s Thursday Door link-up, where the other participants are probably stunned that I’ve actually featured doors on this week’s post! Go to Norm’s, view his wonderful pictures, click on the li’l blue froggy, and see what doors are in store for you around the country and around the world.

Love these doors . . . .and that ghost one is intriguing. Like the fact though it has been blocked up in such an interesting way rather than breeze blocks

I loved that, too! It’s like, the bricklayer said, “We can’t get that exact match,” and the owner said, “Well, use something similar, and then call attention to it with fancy brickwork.”

    Nice trip!
Love the clock. Now when I see those I think of Lyons. Before that, I’d never noticed them.
    The Red Yeti, eh?
    I loved drive-by-bad-angle door and trimmed-in-red-door — both so striking 🙂

We had our hearts set on Schimpff’s. By the time we found out they were closed, we were closer to O’Shea’s. 🙁 But O’Shea’s was good.

The Yeti wouldn’t take a selfie with me, since I wouldn’t eat there. Maybe another time. heh

It seems to be kind of A Thing in small-town Indiana, Roy, for which I’m very glad. 🙂

OOh, lots of character in those Jeffersonville doors. Interesting the method used to brick up the ghost door…a great contrast to the wall. I rather like the red light door, what a portico!

….and a selfie! 🙂 I loved the Red Yeti! Was hoping you ate there, alas you didn’t. Loved the clock too, and that grey, red color scheme where I spied you in the glass.
LOVED that building with the 4 doors-insurance co?

    Looking forward to part II!

One of these fine days, I will eat at the Red Yeti!

Yes, the building with the 4 doors is an insurance company. I don’t remember the name, but I remember that. 🙂
