Guys — THIS STUFF!
#4 Daughter, the amazing Sara Marian, came back from Russia swooning over this cheesy (in a good way) fruit spread she had for breakfast there. She said it was called cirok.
Then she called me one day and said, “I FOUND IT IN KROGER’S! I SAW THIS STUFF, AND I THOUGHT, THAT’S PROBABLY AS CLOSE AS I’M GONNA GET HERE, AND I TRIED IT, AND IT’S IT!!!!”
This is the stuff, y’all.
You notice it’s almost gone. You’re lucky I stopped shoveling it into my face long enough to take a picture at all.
It’s Kroger’s Private Selection Fruit & Yogurt Spread. Me, I like the orange one. And you know me and cottage cheese with fruit, so YES I put a big ol’ blob of the Mandarin Orange F&Y Spread onto a bunch of cottage cheese, and it was seriously delicious!
OMG, call me a Commie, but THANK YOU, RUSSIA!

I had that happen on vacation. My potential DIL opened a tropical fruit – and instantly took me back to my childhood in Mexico where this fruit (guayaba) was made into a fruit paste called ‘ate’ and sugared leather candy we loved as kids.

October 13, 2016 at 8:30amSounds kind of like fruit roll-ups, Alicia. I love moments like that! One reason I instantly loved this little town we live in is that the drug store’s soda fountain counter sells cherry phosphates, which I used to love when I was young. 🙂
