Coming Right Up!

This very same weekend as ever was, Saturday, April 29, the book-selling season opens for us. By “us”, I mean Per Bastet Publications, the publishing house I work for / partly own.

The Authors Fair used to be in Madison, Indiana, when Frank Hall owned That Book Place in Madison. Now he’s part owner of Karen’s Book Barn in LaGrange, Kentucky, so the Authors Fair has moved there.

It’s the funnest thing! We get to see bunches of our writerly pals, whom we haven’t seen since the close of our event season last December, and we get to meet lots of new pals. Most of us keep touch through Facebook, but that isn’t the same as hugging necks and smooching faces.

We catch up on one another’s latest publications, send customers each other’s way, buy from each other, and generally have a grand time. Those of us debilitated by the heavy-duty peopling involved encourage and boost one another’s energy, and watch one another’s table if one of us desperately needs a break.

If you visit the LaGrange area this Saturday, come on down! If you visit the LaGrange area some other time, be sure to visit Karen’s Book Barn!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about a book, AFTER THE ICE, which features food acquisition.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Your character meets a group of other characters after a long separation.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I plan ta! These events are brutal for an extreme lazy-butt introvert like me, but well worth it.

I bet it would be fun, but that’s a lotta drivin, and I gotta garden and cook and launder.

BUT if you make it to IN Conjunction, that’s right down the way and I will totally go! 🙂
