That’s Beaver Street, not Saint Tap. I haven’t been in here; it seems far too busy to suit me. Sports televisions, live music, games … sounds like a family reunion without the family. Since I like my family, that would make me sad.
ANYWHO, it’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for Thursday Doors, which is a link-up masterminded by the masterly mind of Norm Frampton, photog extraordinaire. Go to his blog, look (and comment on) his wonderful doors, click on the blue frog link, and find — or add — doors from your town or travels.
The Beaver Street Tap Room is the baby of Nathan Blank, of Point Blank, which is just down the street. Point Blank is a restaurant and a brewery. I’ve done a Thursday Doors of it before. The Beaver Street Tap Room doesn’t have a web site, but only a Facebook page, which I hate. There are actually a lot of people who aren’t on Facebook, you know. But I found a nice information page on them here, with a great photo of their bar.
So here’s the Tap Room in context. Point Blank is just along there, just before Cellar on the Square, a beer-and-wine-making-supply shop, also Nathan’s.

Here’s a shot of the bar through the closed door. The bar comes from Jim Porter’s Good Time Emporium in Louisville, Kentucky. The back bar comes from there, too, but it came to Jim Porter’s from the Seelbach, also in Louisville, so that’s pretty cool. Also a selfie.
Here’s a picture of the seating, with some of the wall that’s left exposed to show the original brick, the swinging doors to the back, and a reflection of the First State Capitol Building. Kewl.

April 13, 2017 at 7:36amOoooh, bar-stools with backs. That’s dangerous, I might never leave. It looks like a nice place, but it sounds like it’s loud and I’m done with loud bars. Since you started smacking Facebook around, I’ll add that they should stop covering the bottom 1/3 of the screen on public pages to entice people without accounts to get one.

Great fun, for those who like it, but not so much for those who don’t. I didn’t realize FB did that — I didn’t know they showed ANY part of the screen, if you didn’t have an account.

Nah, I don’t drink as much as I talk about drinking. When you don’t drink much, you want what you DO drink to be goooood.

April 13, 2017 at 2:12pmI love that first “selfie”/reflection shot, Marian. I thought I’d like to in there, but the comment about the noise level put me off. Unless there’s a really, really good dark beer there I couldn’t get elsewhere, I’d pass. Too old for that loud nonsense.

April 14, 2017 at 7:47amJanet, the beer depends on your taste. There are some micro-brews that the owner makes just next door to the bar, and you can’t get those anywhere else. I don’t like their brews; they’re too hoppy for me. Everything I’ve tried from them has an undertone of Alka-Seltzer to me. Other people LOVE their brews. Dan got me hooked on Yuengling lager, but I bought some of their Black and Tan (a mix of Premium Beer and Porter) that’s dark and delicious. My FAVORITE just now is Dragon’s Milk Imperial Stout.
