Oh, man, I can do without the heat and the humidity, but I love summer. Because fresh food! For instance, this salad.
Two kinds of fresh tomato, pan-crisped sage leaves, topped with a glop of blue cheese dressing.
It doesn’t look slurpy now, but it left a residue of tomato/cheese/sage liquid that was too heavenly not to spoon up. Oh, all right: You know I picked up the dish and drank that nectar, don’t you?

Not sure about those fried sage leaves though. I’ve never even heard of that being done to them til now!

July 20, 2017 at 10:21amI really like ’em, Deborah! I like ’em done in olive oil, though, not in a dry pan, as I did these. Charlie has been having trouble with oils lately, so I’m trying to cut back. These wanted a touch of oil and salt, though.
