Open Up! #ThursdayDoors

Wait for it….

Wait for it….

BOO!

I mean, cuckoo! What a square!

Thursday Doors is brought to you by Norm Frampton, though I believe he’s still on vacation. Head over to his blog, anyway, to see who’s hosting the festivities this week. Click on the blue frog linky to visit other doors in other places, most of them larger and better than this door here today.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What is your main character’s opinion of cuckoo clocks, and why?

That’s a great door! We used to have one when I was a kid. My mom hated it. When my dad died, she gave it to me and I came to realize why she hated it. The thing would cuckoo, the dog would bark, the baby would wake up and cry…we gave it to friends who didn’t have a dog.

LOL! #funnynotfunny! When I stay overnight with Mom, I sleep on the couch, not far from the clock. What amazes me is that the clock doesn’t wake me up. I hear it clearly when I’m awake, and it’s certainly loud enough to wake a dog or a baby, but it doesn’t wake me. Part of the normal ambient noise, I guess.

It might not be grand but it’s one mighty cute door. Do not forget to include your link – I’m the keeper of the frog this week. 😉

We used to have a cuckoo clock but something stopped working correctly and when we moved, it was moved with us but never fixed or put back up. It’s in the basement somewhere right now. Love the door choice.

Get it out and fiddle with it. Mom’s stopped working, and I took it down and wiggled stuff, and it started again. 😀

Thanks! I bought the clock online from a German company. Supposed to be Black Forest wood.
