Tipper Sits #Caturday

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? I only bited Momma one time this week! And I let her cut my claws and that wasn’t when I bited her. I was just playing, but it blooded her a little. I was sorry.

Guess what else? I got fleas! Momma says that’s what I get for sneaking outside and running around from the back door to the front door. Poppa askidentally let me out and then he let me back in. He was scared I would still be out when Momma came home, but I came in before that.

Momma brought a buzzy flea comb from Sweetie Pie’s house. Momma says Sweetie Pie loves it, but I hate it. I won’t have it. Merrrrowww! (That’s Cat for NO WAY!) For one thing, it’s called an Epilady Flea Zapper, and I’m a BOY CAT! I would need one called an EpiBOY Flea Zapper. I hate it, anyway, because it goes Zzzzzzzzzzz and it tingles my fur. Ugh! Momma says Sweetie Pie begs to be combed with it!

But this is a post about sitting. Momma says most cats like to sit in boxes and bags. I don’t like boxes and bags.

But I do like this box. I love this box! I sit here while Momma “sets up the coffee for the morning,” whatever that means, or when she’s cooking and stuff. Momma calls it “the bibery.” She says when my sister, #4 Daughter, was little, she would sit there while Momma cooked and would look at books. #4 Daughter called it the bibery; Momma says that’s how #4 Daughter said “library.”

There wasn’t a box or a bag there, then. That was before there was a place in town to recycle newspaper (the box) and scrap paper (the bag). #4 Daughter sat on a pillow, Momma says, or, the way #4 Daughter said it, a “piyyow.” It would be fun if she could sit here wif me now.

Another place I like to sit is on the backuhdecouch. Sometimes I sit on the backuhdecouch where Momma sits, and sometimes I sit on the backuhdecouch where Poppa sits. This is Poppa’s backuhdecouch.

You look pretty comfy, Tipper. Sorry about those fleas, but that’s what you get for sneaking out. If I were you, I’d be climbing those glorious bookshelves.

Tipper isn’t much of a climber. Quite seriously, I think there’s something slightly wonky about his balance. He’s always tumbling off things or missing his jump. He’s always just flopping over on his side, like he’s more comfortable that way than any other position. The vet doesn’t find anything wrong, so it’s probably slight.

MiMi tumbles a lot. She seems to enjoy it. We’ve seen her roll down the steps.

Tipper, fella! Isn’t it great to have bunches of special places? All over the house!

You look great in all of them!

I love “backuhdecouch” and that is where Cletus likes to be, too. See also, “backuhderocker” which has a permanent dent in its cushion from his years of perching.
Sorry Tipper hates the flea zapper. 🙁
Also, you inspired me to post about the lil spot in our old kitchen. Thanks!

I inspired a joey! Yaaaaayyyyyy!! Miss Tiffany, also known as The Styrofoam Cat because she had no heft, used to perch on the backuhderocker. Her reincarnation, Katya, was startled spitless when she jumped up there and the rocker MOVED. It never moved when she was Tiffany.

I’ve never heard of that flea zapper thingie. Sounds like it doesn’t use chemicals but…does it work?

It doesn’t use chemicals. It runs on batteries. It’s like a flea comb, but the teeth are metal with rubber tips. The tips keep the electricity off the cat’s skin. You comb the fleas out, just as you do with a regular flea comb, but the electricity in the metal teeth electrocute the fleas. It either kills them or stuns them so they can’t jump away. As I say, Sweetie Pie LOVES it but Tipper HATES it.

Hmm…I wonder if they have any here. I shall go on the hunt. Thank you. 🙂
