Murca First #FoundPoem

Two of our local businesses are getting a lot of free publicity in the local weekly newspaper’s call-in column.

One of them is a “vape” store, selling eCigs and the vapor that goes into them. They have a hearse with their logo, location, and contact information on it, which they park — legally, mind you — various places around town. It drives some folks wild.

The other one is a jewelry store. They have a sign in their window saying Give us the finger, we’ll give you the ring. That one’s been given free press in the call-in column for weeks. God, I love this town!

But those aren’t what I want to share with you today. Today is a therapeutic rant in opposition to shipping American jobs to foreign places.

I’m from Corydon
and have lived here most of my life,
and I’m really aggravated today
that everything I buy,
whether it be a computer,
banking,
or whatever,
when I call, it goes to India
or some other country,
even Texas
or New Jersey,
for customer service.
I’m going to quit buying anything
that I have to do that with.
If they can’t have a local,
customer service phone,
I’m not going to buy anything from anybody.
I’m just going to get that
off my chest.

Look out for rapid growth, spiraling housing prices, and probably a crime wave as customer service center after customer service center moves to Corydon from countries like India, Texas and New Jersey. To the caller’s point, it is hard to understand those folks in New Joisey
