First, it’s the beginning of the month, so there’s a new Hot Flash (tiny little story) on the Hot Flashes page.
I always keep updates turned on for everything (except, of course, Windows — no 10 for me!). Eventually, though, I reach the point at which the programs are too big and powerful for whatever ancient (3-5 years old) tech I’m running them on. The latest version of Firefox (which I detest for many reasons) has hit that wall.
SO, I need to either buy a new computer when the one I have works fine for what I actually NEED, or revert to an older version of Firefox. Happily, there’s help in doing the latter. Tiffany Carlson lays out the entire process of reverting to an older Chrome and/or Firefox, over at TechNorms. Thanks, Tiffany! The article includes links to other articles that tell you how to sync your information and settings first, so you don’t lose your bookmarks and stuff.
Another thing I need help with is working with Excel spreadsheets. I used to hate and fear them, but now I love them. I need to use them to organize and sort information for doing the financial chores for Per Bastet Publications. If you know the grades I got in math, that sentence will raise the hairs on the back of your neck. The Functions help me figger without the danger of my dyscalculia (numeric dyslexia) mucking things up. But there isn’t a multiply function! What now?
ThoughtCo to the rescue! They’re all about “Science, Tech, Math”, including Excel spreadsheets. They have a whole section just about formulas, so now I can make those puppies sit up and beg!
Well, that’s enough about work. Go play at Albino Blacksheep. The man is a loony. I like that in a person.

December 2, 2017 at 6:03pmOMG, Pete, YOU,TOO? Actually, I laugh a lot inside, too, these days. Like the saying goes: been down so long, it looks like up to me.

December 2, 2017 at 7:42pmYes. Me too. I’ve been down so long, I’ve gone through 4 horses. I have been so deep.
Hey! Who are all these Chinese people!?????
And I have been in HELL forced march, for 2 years. Dead people, people in nursing homes, apts and houses collapsed. Monkeys chased. Not much laughing inside for me. So I follow HER Majesty’s advice: Beat the Dark Side with your right side. Use the Force.
Trying to win one for the Gipper.
“… we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender …” WSC.
Come on Snoopy, to our Sopwith Camels. Come on Robin. It is Nanu-Nanu time.
