Australian Treat By Way of Russia

Some time ago, I posted about The Amazing Sara Marian‘s find in America (at Kroger, no less) of an equivalent of cirok, a yogurt/fruit confection she loved during her study stay in Russia. Our Jay C, which is owned by Kroger, carried it long enough for me to get addicted, then stopped. They do that all the time.

ANYWAY, they’ve started carrying a different brand, Noosa. Not quite the same, but close enough for jazz. For one thing, it isn’t yogurt; it’s yoghurt. This version comes from a collaboration between an Australian and an American, and it’s pretty damn good. It could use more fruit, and I’d rather it be all stirred up rather than fruit on the bottom, but it is what it is.

The lemon, I gotta tell you, is definitely meh, but it’s good to use in place of plain yoghurt (or yogurt) or sour cream, ’cause it does have a slight citrusy edge to it. But the apple-cinnamon! Oh, the apple-cinnamon!

With cinnamon graham crackers? YES, PLEASE!

That name again:

A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: What food from another place or time does your main character crave? Same for your villain. Did I already give you this one? Okay, write about a long-distance collaboration.

I have a hard time with these things, unless they’re stirred into something or on top of something. But, I hope you find what you like. Yes to the graham crackers.

I like these, just to eat. Also good stirred into cottage cheese or glopped on toast. 🙂

My favorite flavors are vanilla, and strawberry. I often made my children yogurt parfais with layers of vanilla yogurt, and crumbled graham crackers. In the summer I’d layer in fresh fruits too. Yum!

Stirred into cottage cheese and then put in the freezer for 30 minutes — that’s high protein, low sugar nom 😛

I like Noosa blackberry. I like it so much I haven’t tried the others. Chobani coconut. Chobani cherry. Fage honey. Oui strawberry. I know what I like and well, I pretty much like it all! 😀

In the freezer? So, it’s like (duh, me) frozen yogurt with protein in. Yeah. Mmmm, summer, here I come! You NEED to try other ones, like apple cinnamon. So good!

Cinnamonamon is inflammatoryory. Would you say your apple cinnamon has more or less cinnamon than a cinnamon Quaker oatmeal? That’s my threshold.
