My long-time friend Beth Johnson knew I needed some laughs, so she gave me Barry J. Hutchison’s SPACE TEAM.
I’ll be honest. If she hadn’t given it to me, I would have stopped reading during the first chapter. The first chapter was just not my cup of tea. I’m glad I didn’t stop, though, because it was all uphill from there. I can’t say it struck me as funny as it struck my friend, but the bits that did strike me funny laid me out. I have now joined Team Space Team, so I won’t miss any adventures. Any space adventures, Beth.
And, yeah, the Space Team are from different planets, and they have translator chips so they can understand one another. But the translator chips won’t translate profanity. So if I ever get mad at you and tell you to go fonk yourself, you’ll have to guess what I mean. Try it now. Go on, guess. <– This is the kind of dialog that runs all through Space Team, and it kills me.
If you visit Hutchison’s web site, not only can you look at a very handsome picture supposedly of the author, you can get three free stories and watch a video of The Adventures of Splurt. Well worth your time.
Beth also suggested I watch this recruitment video for the New Zealand Police Force. What can I say, Beth, but thank you? Nothing else, that’s what. So thank you! That’s some funny shizz, right there. Oh, be sure to stay tuned for the out-takes.

January 19, 2018 at 7:05pmSilly video crashed my wireless mouse – but still enjoyed it.
Hope the funny stuff is helping a bit. Thinking of you!

January 20, 2018 at 7:50amSorry about crashing your mouse! Didn’t know that could happen! Thank you for the kind thoughts. #4 Daughter came yesterday and whisked us away to dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant and a visit to the art museum, including a lecture by our favorite Great Courses lecturer. Then she brought us home and did her Penguin Dance until I laughed myself breathless. Did me a world of good, that did.

January 19, 2018 at 8:38pmI loved that video. So fun and creative. They must be a fun bunch to work with.
I can’t “like” your posts while on my cell phone or tablet. 🙂 It just bounces back at me. Weird.

January 20, 2018 at 7:52amI don’t know what’s up with WordPress, Deborah. Sometimes I can’t post comments on other WP blogs, sometimes I can’t even SEE the Like button, sometimes everything works smoothly. Oh, well, we expect an awful lot of our electronic gizmos. It’s a wonder they work as well as they do.

January 19, 2018 at 9:11pmI’ll give Space Team a go, Marian. BTW, I’m actively soliciting (begging) for followers to my Pat Paxton Books WordPress blog. I currently have two. I’m afraid if one of them dies, the other will commit Hari Kari due to loneliness.

January 20, 2018 at 7:54amThat’s Pat Paxton Books, folks. Check it out. Don’t let this man’s blogs commit The Happy Dispatch. What’s the other one, Pat?

January 20, 2018 at 7:21pmThank you, Marian. I’m still so new to blogging that I’ve gotten myself confused. When you ask what’s the other one, do you mean my other follower? Help! Waaaaaahhhh! Oh, I think I just got it. When I said I “currently have two”, I meant that I have only two “followers”. Off to a slow start…
