Minecraft With Parrots In #MinecraftPE

Yeah, I’m still playing Minecraft. I’ve built and discarded several worlds, because I’ve just lost interest in them. Or, you know, I died. You “respawn” back at your original spawning point when you die, but you lose your stuff, which is BO-RING.

ANYWAY, I think I’ll play this one for a while. It’s a jungle biome, which means I might find an ocelot to tame into a cat. Yay!

But, cat or not, guess what I found? Well, I already telegraphed the surprise in the post title, so, yeah, PARROTS! Not dead ones, either!

I fed them melon seed and tamed them.

My first parrot.
My second parrot.

So then I could hear them whistling and squawking, “Hello!”, but I couldn’t see them. So I looked at my character.

Yup. One on each shoulder! I’m wearing iron armor. That’s so I can survive if I fall into lava long enough to scramble out and cool off. I’m holding melon seed, in case the parrots get — ha ha — peckish.

And, because it’s Minecraft, naturally there’s a cow in a tree.

And, because it’s parrots, this.

I’m posting at Fatal Foodies today on the topic of What To Do With Boring Yogurt.

A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: Write about a bird or birds. Or a cow. Or a tree.

Always good to start with Monty Python and a cow in a tree.

Polly may want a cracker, too!
(I know absolutely NOTHING about Minecraft. NO! Don’t teach me. I don’t need to know.)
    Enjoy your diversion.

No, Roy, you don’t need to know. 😀 “Diversion” is a good word for it. Or “escape.” Or “vacation.” Mom used to get a kick out of my Minecraft stories. I would go in to give her her morning meds and food, and I would say, “So I was playing Minecraft…,” and she would start chuckling. Now, when I’ve done as much as I can stand of disconnecting her phone and transferring her utilities and tracking down her death certificate copies, I run away to Minecraft for a while and tame parrots. 🙂

Sadly, I’ve slain three of them by accident. They tend to sit RIGHT IN THE WAY and I don’t know how to move them so I can do whatever I’m doing. I try to move them, but anything I touch them with kills them. I slew a sheep accidentally, too, because I tried to move it off my chest — my storage chest, not my lungs chest. It was just up there twirling around and around and around. I waited a day and a night and part of another day (Minecraft time) for it to get off, but it didn’t. So I tried to move it, and it keeled over DEAD. Maybe I shouldn’t have used a diamond pickax to prod it. Maybe a stick would have been a better choice.

OMG LOL! Reading that reminds me of playing Animal Crossing, and how odd it sounds out of context. “When ya just wanna pick some peaches and you find a genie bottle, but you can’t pick it up before the tarantula bites you!”

I never played Animal Crossing, but that DOES sound like Minecraft logic. Like, two of my grandsons were talking about Minecraft and one of them was complaining that he was trapped in the nether and couldn’t get out because he couldn’t find the portal and didn’t have what he needed to make another one (I think). The other one said, “Why don’t you kill yourself?” And I was like, “Wait — What? Oh, yeah, great idea!” Because, if you die in Minecraft, you respawn at your original spawning point OR at your bed. Then he could get what he needed to make any number of portals and go back to retrieve his inventory. Game logic. Gotta love it!

It’s been forever since I played Minecraft, you have made me think that maybe I should load it back up and have a go again! I think I played it so much that I ended up ruining it for myself!

I used to love all the mods you could get, I remember playing the Tekkit mod for hours and hours!

I don’t use any mods — not techy enough to understand how to load them lol! I generally lay off it for a month or so, then I get excited when I fire it up again. 🙂

Haha! Sounds like me with every game I’ve ever played! Sometimes I’ll be in bed thinking about a game that I haven’t played in ages and then the next day I’ll have to play it or I won’t be able to stop thinking about it! 😛

Oh, Lord, don’t get me started on Tetris! You go to sleep seeing falling blocks and wake up seeing falling blocks! My fingers probably twitched in my sleep! Had to QUIT that game TOTALLY.
