Spruce Up Your Addictive Fiction #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsI’ve become one of Those People. Yes, yes, it’s true. My name is Marian, and I’m a Sriracha Sauce addict.

If you don’t know what I mean, a wonderful food site called The Spruce has an article that tells all about Sriracha Sauce, including the statement that it’s addictive. Woe is me, that I didn’t read this article before I tried it, for there’s no turning back now.

I feel like Roz Doyle, after she discovered caviar:

This is not really the appropriate scene, but I couldn’t find a clip of it. The best scene is when she’s talking about all the things she puts it on. The jones is really in play in that scene. And I’m like, “Yeah, Sriracha on ramen, of course! Eggs? Would it be good on eggs? How about grilled cheese? Because I think it would be good on grilled cheese.”

MOVING ON, in poking around on the net this week, I lucked onto the Fiction Database. Search for a book by title, series, or author. You can search it for free, register for additional free uses, and subscribe (for a price, Ugarte, for a price) for even more. Way cool.

A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: Write about somebody discovering something they love to an unhealthy — or nearly unhealthy — degree.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I have not yet put it in oatmeal or on a cookie, so I think I’m still on the healthy side of this obsession.

My name is Joey and I live with a sriracha addict. She puts it in and on all the things. She’s got her father into sriracha ranch dressing and sriracha mayo. I like it now and again, but it’s not my drug of choice.
I love that episode, too. Like delicacy drug dealers. And you’re right, she talks about it like a lover. 😛
