First, you know what happens on the first of the month: I post a new micro-mini story on my Hot Flashes page. Go enjoy.
Okay. Now. When #4 Daughter, the Amazing Sara Marian, was wee, we were in the grocery checkout. She wanted something and I denied her request. She was not best pleased.
I said, “What are you going to do, run away from home like the Runway Bunny?” (Referencing a book usually put us both in a better humor.)
And she said:
I run away from home all the time and you never notice!”
I think the lady behind us wet herself a little, she laughed so hard.

August 1, 2018 at 10:10amShe may have meant that literally, but my first thought was, “Now THERE’S a reader for you. We run away all the TIME and no one notices.”
We’re time travelers, too.

August 1, 2018 at 12:15pmNo, no, no, no, no! A mother with an anxiety disorder DOES NOT say that to an adventurous child who knows no fear! lol

August 5, 2018 at 10:23amI realize it was a misprint, but “The Runway Bunny” made me think of this… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5mtclwloEQ

August 5, 2018 at 4:15pmNever heard that one? I think it was popular back in the ’90’s. Part of the reason I gave up on music after 1995…

August 6, 2018 at 7:33amI had heard people reference the lyrics, but I had no idea of the actual video. It exceeds all expectations. If “exceeds” and “expectations” are the words I want.

August 10, 2018 at 1:15pmI know! The thing is, she roamed the woods close to the house at will, so I never knew when she was asploring and when she was running away from home. lol
