Prepare For What Pegman Saw On Mars. Imagine! #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsSo Windows is just all about Windows 10, which I am SO NOT all about. I tried it out and immediately upgraded back to 7.

Eventually, I’ll probably migrate to Linux, which I’m already running on my desktop. If you’re thinking about that, too, here’s a series of articles to get us all started: Windows 7 to Linux: Preparations.

I know some of my readers are into writing challenges. I love ’em, too, but I’m currently already writing, so I don’t need one just now. I’m keeping this one in my pocket, though, ’cause it looks way fun. Pegman is the little mannikin on Google Maps; you click on him to get to Street View.

What Pegman Saw is a weekly fiction prompt utilizing Google Maps. The assignment is to write a story–150 words or less–based upon your own street view tour, using the location link provided.

Doesn’t that sound like fun? If you’re an outlier, you could pick your own location.

Now, personally, I don’t think anything could beat the Carpool Karaoke with Paul McCartney, but I really really really love this one with Bruno Mars. Why? because UPTOWN FUNK GONNA GIVE IT TO YA!

WHEW!

Also: Coming up October 5-7 is the fabulous-abulous Imaginarium Creative Writing Festival!!! It’s SO FUN! Look closely and you might see somebody you know flash past. Not, you know, flash. The picture just isn’t on very long. Imaginarium isn’t just for fantasy, science fiction, and horror writers/readers. There’s mystery, romance, literary, magic realism, non-fiction. ALL KINDS!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about moving, in any sense of the word.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
