Writers gotta eat, amIright? So I made a beef stew of a sort and we snarfed it up.
I used a chuck roast, which I rubbed with Penzeys TsarDust Memories spice mix and browned on both sides in olive oil. then I put in the little rack and put the roast on that. Dumped a pound of mushrooms on top, salted ’em, cut some Russet potatoes in half and tucked those in around it all. I poured half a cup of red wine in and slow cooked it on high for many hours. Like five or six.
It was BELISHUS!!!
It is now all gone, alas.
