Charlie and is brothers and sisters and inlaws and nieces and nephews are funny folks. Funny ha-ha, not funny peculiar, although aren’t we all funny peculiar each in our own way?

ANYWAY, one time one of Charlie’s brothers or … one of his family NEVER MIND THE RELATION was talking about a younger one’s hearty appetite. He said they were at McDonald’s and the youngster showed his capacity.

He was popping Big Macs like they were M&Ms.

If you don’t know what M&Ms are, they’re button-sized candies. So, funny? I think funny.

Sad…I remember a time when I could eat several Big Macs. Not no more.

I’ve even had to cut down on how many White Castles I can eat. Used to be six. Now it’s three. Sad.

That’s as funny (ha-ha) as my cousin’s snarky comment about another cousin, who is way too heavy for his frame:

“He looks like he’s one cheeseburger away from leaving this earth!”

    Cheers,

I will never forget the year the Big Mac was introduced and I tried it. I was a new teenager and McDonald’s was a super special treat in my household growing up. We were dirt poor for the longest time. I was a Military Brat for half of my adolescence. No money! Speed up several years. My Dad retired from the Marine Corp. my Mom went to work for a major telecommunications company. Naturally, my parents followed their career paths and money to Silicon Valle. We weren’t here all that long when I’d been seeing the commercials every bloody afternoon for weeks for the newest sensation at McDonald’s…the Big Mac while watching my favorite after-school programming and when my parents said we were going the McDonald’s one day during that promotion I ordered a Big Mac. My Dad thought it was too much. I would never eat it. It had lettuce!
OMG! It was huge! 2 patties, 3 buns, secret sauce, lettuce, and warm! Served with fries fried in lard or real fat then…OMG!! It was the best burger I’d ever had!
I spent all my allowance on Big Mac’s after that for my whole freshman year! They came out before that, but my allowance didn’t afford them sadly.

I haven’t had a Big Mac in probably 20 years. I don’t dare have one now for fear it just will not be as wonderful and tasty as it was way back then.

LIke White Castles. They haven’t been as delicious as those first 3 in Kentucky with my cousin when I was 21.
We only have frozen White Castles here in CA. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AT ALL!

I had the same experience with Arby’s when they first opened in Louisville. Best sammich I ever had. The last one I had, a few years ago, was … not to my liking. And I agree on the frozen White Castles. I still LOVE ’em fresh off the griddle, though.
