Getting There #1LinerWeds

We had great company this weekend. Bartie can do anything she puts her hand to so, besides her delightful self, it’s always a pleasure to see and hear what she’s been doing. Bob brings his guitar and, besides his delightful self, we love to hear him sing and play and create his own situation-appropriate lyrics on the fly, and we love to hear some of his memorized poems from various times and various authors, of which he has an evolving stock.

I did gill out, despite torrential rain, dangerous lightning storms, and a tornado watch. Pffft!

Me: Hellooo? Grill-ing!

Nature: Sorry. Sorry. My bad. Gone in a minute.

ANYWAY, Bob is a funny, funny guy, and he and I joke around. Like today’s one-liner.

Bob: Women need direction.

Me: And men won’t ask for them.

And Bob topped me:

At that, I laughed and went out under the awning to have my little discussion with Mother Nature.

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

Even with the electronic GPS, I have this version that can override. That’s funny!

LOL! That’s funny, but he shouldn’t really trust it. It can be wrong from time to time. Mine took me up a one way street in Salt Lake City once in the pouring rain. The most hilarious thing was the driver in front of me made the same turn! We both realized pretty quick that the GPS was wrong, wrong, wrong, and we both turned into the first driveway we could! We passed each other making the turn in the parking lot to exit it and made eye contact. She was as gobsmacked as I was! I wondered if she was going to the same hotel. We could discuss which GPS unit we each had. She wasn’t.

I told Randy my GPS at the time if he did something like that again he would be OUT! I have Simon waiting in the wings. Randy never took me up a one-way street going the wrong way while the unit lived again. Trust but verify has been my motto with my GPS units since.

Oh, I think he trusts his “Girl Powered Supervision” over the electronic GPS ANY day! I’ve had my GPS take me to wastelands, apparently deserted derelict towns with a road in but no road out, and a shuttered residence I later learned was a crack house (not my destination). One friend was taken to a graveyard instead of a hotel (I know there’s a Twilight Zone story in that, but I’m too creeped out to write it). #4 Daughter was told to turn right, but there was a sheer drop-off down a cliff to the right. I maintain that GPS is programmed and staffed by zombies who want to isolate and/or kill us.

    Yay, Bob!

I must say, the commentary is just as entertaining as the post!

    Cheers,
