And the Winner Is….

I got a couple of people who said they like everything I post, and a few who encourage me to post what I want to. Of specifics, though, the clear winner of what to keep is:

Caturday

That was followed by:

Thursday Doors

One-Liner Wednesday

Food Tuesday

Friday Recommends

Nobody was specifically interested in Short Story Review Monday or Sample Sunday. I had hoped that those two would encourage people to buy/read/review my stories and books, but guess not. In spite of many flattering comments about how well I write, the products continue to be absolutely amazing in not flying off the shelf.

I don’t know who does or doesn’t buy my stuff; I’m not taking names and kicking ass (or kicking ass and taking names; sometimes I do it one way, sometimes I do it the other, but I’m not doing it now). I’m just sayin’.

ANYWAY, thanks to all who took — or attempted to take — the poll.

So, if anything falls by the wayside, becomes a catch-all, or morphs into something hideously Other, it’ll be Sunday and/or Monday.

Thank you for your participation. I’ll use a different poll service next time, and maybe it’ll work better. We live and learn, eh?

I’m going to be free and easy on Monday and Sunday, maybe posting, maybe doing something quick, maybe just free-associating. They were actually the hardest to do, so I’m not sorry they weren’t the most popular. heh

-hugs- You’re not alone when it comes to sales. For what it’s worth though, I think your writing is excellent so keep at it. Lady Luck has to smile our way eventually, right? lol

You’re a sweetie! Marketing would be so much easier, if so many of the marketing sites didn’t insist on AMAZON reviews as validation before they’ll even take your money. I understand having standards, and I understand that that’s an easy one, but why not Goodreads reviews? Why not blog reviews? Why MUST it be REVIEWS ON THE AMAZON SITE? ~shaking my head~

    Hi Marian,

I’m one of the readers in the very center of your Venn Diagram: I buy your books, tried to take the poll and just thought I was too late, and am one who believes you should post what you want. After all, I don’t have to read everything. Doors and cats don’t do it for me, but I do love the recommendations, the one-liners and, in general, your witty, engaging style.

    Carry on!

    Cheers,

    Mitch

How about just doing them 1 time per month?

As long as we do not lose our cats, and doors.
    And the odd Steffie!
STEFFIE: I am NOT odd! Now, Pete, on the other hand……

This thing about blogging being a way to sell our books is broken – or never worked.

I say this in the full knowledge that I haven’t blogged in what seems like forever – a new med has kept me happy, but non-productive. Long term benefits are presumed, and some good short-term ones have already happened, but lifting of the brain fog reliably hasn’t yet.

With or without posts, I sell about the same: one or two every once in a while. I hope to do better when the second volume in the trilogy is done – I love where it’s going – but marketing is the last thing on my mind.

Things are happening, good things, and settling-into-a-new-life things, but I thought I’d be further along by now – and instead I can’t even cobble up a few words to post.

    I always admire your energy.

You’ve changed something: even I have noticed I’m not being asked to justify my non-robotness any more. I’m slow.

I don’t know if I changed it or if WordPress changed it, but I’m glad it’s changed. I don’t care if robots read my blog, as long as they buy my books.

I own one of your books, and I quite enjoyed it. My to-be-read pile is huge, but I could see adding another of yours to the pile. I hope I have more time for reading in the foreseeable future.

Thanks, Dan! An Amazon review would be much appreciated. Even a one-star review is better than no review. #beggingnotbegging

I will try (it may take a while). I am shy about reviews, and when I did write one, Amazon banned it and kinda-sorta threatened me. It seems I reviewed a book by someone I was too close to. The book was a gift, from an author friend of mine. It came with a “go here to review this book” tag in it FROM AMAZON!

        That set me back 🙁

I know how they do. It really ticks me off. Can I help it if I’m fortunate in my friends?
