Charlie’s Chicken and Dumplings

This week, Charlie was sick. So this week I made the kind of chicken and dumplings he likes: brothy instead of thick.

I still didn’t have any real chicken, so I used canned. Charlie was okay with it, but I wasn’t impressed. I made actual vegetable broth by simmering carrots, celery, and onions for a long time. Then I pulled those veg out and chopped some fresh for the soup.

I added some chicken bouillon powder to make up for the canned chicken (it didn’t, actually, but still). Those are Reames frozen flat dumplings, which are much better than mine.

He loved it. I loved it. Now, neither of us is sick. So YAY!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about half a burrito I brought home and doctored up.

You forgot to mention the love. It sounds like you put a bunch in that soup.

Thanks! At least we weren’t both sick at the same time. Shiny liners!
