Asseptinss Dance!

The asseptinss dance–acceptance, to those who don’t speak my language–is much shorter than the bejection dance, because there aren’t so many emotions to work through. The asseptinss dance is short and sweet, but you do it every time you think about the acceptance you just got.

Oh, by the way–I SOLD A STORY!!! ::doin’ the asseptinss dance:: Ahem. Yes.

The story was bought by Dark Valentine, “a literary magazine bringing you dark fiction of the highest order.” Dude–I’m of the highest order, man. ::asseptinss dance::

It’s a story about the fulfillment of a prophecy, and I called it “The Prophecy”, but the editor thinks–and I agree with her–that it’s a pretty lame title. So I need to come up with another one. The story will be part of the magazine’s October “31 Days of Dark Fiction” fiction fiesta. ::asseptinss dance::

Anyway, here’s how the dance goes:

You read about the acceptance. You poing like Kiki from Sluggy Freelance.

You go tell somebody. First, holding the acceptance letter or email in your hand, flail your arms like Kermit. Make your announcement, then do the Snoopy happy dance.

Repeat as necessary.

I’ll let you know when I think of a good title for that story. You know–the one I just sold. ::assiptinss dance::

UPDATE, 7-19-12 – sold a BOOK! https://marianallen.com/2012/07/now-it-can-be-told/
