My Trifling Dessert

I’m heading out to the World on the Square in Corydon, Indiana today. As I said I would, I made trifle. I’ll make pasta e fagioli, too, but I haven’t done that yet.

THIS PARTICULAR TRIFLE

  • sour cream angelfood cake
  • peaches in light syrup
  • orange marmalade
  • chocolate syrup
  • whipped topping

Two layers of each, with a little blibble of marmalade on top for pretty.

I would take a picture of it, but I made it in an ugly bowl because that was the only thing I have big enough to hold this trifle-for-a-crowd.

WRITING PROMPT: If your main character had to make a dessert for a crowd, what would it be? Store-bought cookies? home-made cheesecake? catered lemon mousse? a campfire and a bag of marshmallows?

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Wish I were a little more of a cook but I can’t find the time. This sounds delicious, not too difficult and a recipe to feed a crowd!!! My main character wouldn’t know what to do…

Super quick and easy! I bought the angelfood cake, and I used canned peaches, so the only cooking skills one needs is opening packages. You can use any kind of cake, any kind of fruit, any kind of jam/preserves, any kind of cream, and kind of liquid drizzle, including alcohol. Just mix and match to suit your taste and whatever’s cheap. lol

Store bought cookies? That’s entirely too Mary Sue for me. As for the S’mores, try substituting plain chocolate for a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup some time. Ooooh, baby.

    You’re a tease. Where’s the RECIPE?

Peanut butter cup instead of plain chocolate–OH, MAN! Yeah, that is going to happen!

A recipe for what? I gave you the recipe for trifle–that was the recipe. You want my recipe for pasta e fagioli?
