cover of Lonnie, Me and the Hound of HellNot of EEL’S REVERENCE, despite my recent tour, but of LONNIE, ME AND THE HOUND OF HELL . It was posted on Smashwords by mystery author Kaye George. Thanks, Kaye!

At church today, Pastor Lori asked the kids if they could pray while they were riding a bike. They all shouted, “Nooooooooo!” She was a little surprised at the unanimity and certainty of the response. She said, “Why couldn’t you pray while you’re riding a bike?” They were like, “Duh! You’d crash!” Makes sense–you fold your hands and bow your head and close your eyes to say your prayers….

Bernadette sang The Yoo-Hoo Song. Its real name is “On Eagle’s Wings” but the first line is “You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord”, so it’s The Yoo-Hoo Song to me.

The sermon was a really good one about praying for everybody, not just the people you agree with. You should even pray for people who say, “You mean, ‘Not just the people with whom you agree.'” I don’t think, “God damn them to hell” counts. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

WRITING PROMPT: Write a character who is told to pray for someone he/she does SO NOT want to pray for.
