Pet Peeve

Everybody has one. At least one. Sentence fragments? Some people.

One of mine is quotation marks where they “don’t” belong. Drives “me” nuts.

Mom and I went to a doctor’s office recently. In deference to my mother, I won’t name the doctor, but I had to take this picture for a blog o’ shame. They had this note out before, taped to the sliding window. I marked out the quotation marks. When we went in this time, they had reprinted the note and put it into a picture frame to protect it from me. If I had had a Magic Marker with me… or White-Out… or a glass cutter… or a REALLY BIG DIAMOND…. But–curses!–foiled again!

I didn’t write one single solitary word yesterday on my NaNoWriMo project, PICKLE IN A PEAR TREE. Today doesn’t look good, either, but I’ll give ‘er a try. I think I need another character. (Mom, stop groaning. No, Mom, it’s all right, really. I NEED another character–I NEED one!)

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
