A Treasure For You

Friend and fellow-blogger N. R. Williams‘ new book, THE TREASURES OF CARMELIDRIUM, is available at Amazon for Kindle and at Smashwords in multiple electronic formats. Go, go, go! Buy, buy, buy! Read, read, read! Look at that snazzy-jazz cover!

Here’s what it’s about:

Missie is a gifted flutist in her final year at the University of Colorado. Despite her talent, she questions her abilities, instinctively knowing that something is missing. An unexpected spring blizzard blurs her vision as she is driving home for spring break. When a cloaked man appears in the middle of the road, she nearly collides into him.

Nancy–N. R., that is–will be guesting with me in January, so I hope you’ll pop in and learn more about the author and her treasure.

WRITING PROMPT: If you could only take ONE thing out of your house or car — THING, not person — what would it be? We’re assuming that it would magically come into your hand, not that you would have to find it, and that size and weight didn’t matter.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

    Now that’s an intriguing question…

The sensible answer might be, “My keys.” After all, I wouldn’t want my car stolen, and I’d want to get back into it after my magical adventure was over. Unless we’re just talking, “Oh, gosh darnit, I left my [fill-in-the-blank] out in the car, and the garage is as cold as a witch’s–” then my [fill-in-the-blank] would probably be “backpack.”

I suppose, depending on the adventure, my CERT kit would be more useful than either of those things. And my cell phone has GPS – if I left it mounted on the dash, I might want to summon it. Then there’s the bag of S’Mores supplies from the last camp-out…

LOL Holly’s comment is so funny. Thank you so much Marian, I truly appreciate your shout out.

If weight isn’t a problem I want the computer. How else would I be able to communicate with all of you. But if I ended in my alternate world, Gil-Lael, there’s no electricity, so that wouldn’t work, nor would the cell phone, so maybe my glasses, but then I don’t speak or read French and it’s a French speaking world. I hope I run into Prince Healden, heaven forbid I run into Renwyk, cause he’s the villain and well…you know, a villain isn’t likely to help you. There you have it, I have no idea.

Nancy and Holly–I like your thinking. 🙂 My treasured thing would be my flash drive with my work on it. If I could have two things, the second would be one of my books on woodland survival. If nothing else, I could use the pages for … you know.

And, Nancy, whether I want to meet a villain or not depends on who’s playing him. Alan Rickman? Yeah, break me off a piece-a DAT!

    Love the cover, Nancy!

I usually carry little in my car. What I put in, I take out. So my answer would be keys, especially the house key. (I’ve been locked out before!)

Good call, Helen. With car keys, you can get far, far away, if necessary.
