The sensible answer might be, “My keys.” After all, I wouldn’t want my car stolen, and I’d want to get back into it after my magical adventure was over. Unless we’re just talking, “Oh, gosh darnit, I left my [fill-in-the-blank] out in the car, and the garage is as cold as a witch’s–” then my [fill-in-the-blank] would probably be “backpack.”
I suppose, depending on the adventure, my CERT kit would be more useful than either of those things. And my cell phone has GPS – if I left it mounted on the dash, I might want to summon it. Then there’s the bag of S’Mores supplies from the last camp-out…

If weight isn’t a problem I want the computer. How else would I be able to communicate with all of you. But if I ended in my alternate world, Gil-Lael, there’s no electricity, so that wouldn’t work, nor would the cell phone, so maybe my glasses, but then I don’t speak or read French and it’s a French speaking world. I hope I run into Prince Healden, heaven forbid I run into Renwyk, cause he’s the villain and well…you know, a villain isn’t likely to help you. There you have it, I have no idea.

And, Nancy, whether I want to meet a villain or not depends on who’s playing him. Alan Rickman? Yeah, break me off a piece-a DAT!

I usually carry little in my car. What I put in, I take out. So my answer would be keys, especially the house key. (I’ve been locked out before!)
