cat-01As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives.
Each wife had seven sacks.
Each sack had seven cats.
Each cat had seven kits.
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?

    And the answer is:
    ONE

    “As I was going to St. Ives …. How many were going to St. Ives?” I was. One.

      And the correct answer is: One! Now I’m going to put all of the correct guesses into a hat and stir them around…. I’ll have a disinterested person draw out a name…. Katya, come here and draw a name. You can’t get more disinterested than a cat…. And the winner is … MARIAN ALLEN!

    58? I started with the seven cats with seven kittens each. That would be 49. Plus the man, his seven wives, and the narrator of the riddle. 58 are going to St. Ives! I hope I got the correct answer. That was actually fun!
