Mom has been sleeping too well lately, so I was happy she had a fairly bad night the other night.
Now, before you accuse me of being mean, “a bad night” means she wakes up and can’t get back to sleep in her bed. When that happens, she comes in and sits on the couch and goes to sleep there. She tells Charlie it’s comfortable, so it must be true. She tells him the truth all the time. It’s disgusting.
She had her camera out the other night, and took some pictures of me. If you want to know what a bad night really is, try having your picture snapped at random moments during the wee hours.

Guess who typed the captions?
“Bap,” indeed! I’m petting her! It’s supposed to help her sleep! Some people have no gratitude.

September 7, 2013 at 10:35amHi. Goober here.
I can’t get no respect. Look at my name! I have a perfectly good moniker (Jasper), and what does she call me all the time? Goober! Just as if I WERE….oh, I see. Well.
I try to help Mom all the time by herding her other cats. You may recall how much she respects that Rory fellow I never even met, who could herd that Cricket woman. (I tried herding Cricket, but she would NOT have it. Sometimes you fail.)
I just now gave a big go at herding Squirrel, and she shot past Mom so fast, growling so loud, you’d think she would have appreciated my top-level skills. But no. Mom hollered, Dammit, you Goober!
I hear that all the time. You should hear that lady cuss! She is not polite at all.
So I try to herd the big girl: Lily. I did such a good job of this last year, that Lily was cornered in the living room for days at a time, which happened to be the one room without a cat box. Heh. You can guess what happened. Lily embarrassed herself. But what did I hear? Dammit, you Goober! Not a bad word for the miscreant pisser. No, not one.
So now, Lily has HER OWN ROOM! I’m not allowed in. But I go in, anyway, because this Lily girl needs a good herding! I rush in, head down. She sees me. We growl! Her fur gets big. OH MY! She is a REALLY big girl! I rush back into the hall.
Maybe I will help Mom herd Lily another day. Meanwhile, I need to take a few laps of the house running flat out hollering Klingon. That’s another thing I’m good at.
See you later!

I have often woke daddy up before he wants to get up in the morning.
He thinks it’s because I want breakfast, but it’s just my wanting to encourage him to begin his day bright and early!
