Everything was coated with a thin sheathe of ice. Fortunately, it was a thin sheathe this year, not the bough-breaking killer ice of 2009.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: A character goes outside and finds something coated with a thin sheathe of ice.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Lots of snow and ice, eh?
My backyard is criss-crossed with cat tracks. It’s fun seeing where they’ve decided to walk and where they haven’t gone. Speaking of going, they’ve picked a little zone over near the bushes as their -er- latrine. Isn’t that darling!

I love winter! I love having a very cold sleep during the night.

We turn our heat down during the night. It’s delicious to climb in under pounds of quilts and flannel sheets, isn’t it?
